How we got started:

RacialEquity@Focolare started as a question posed to us after the murder of George Floyd and the social inequities that were unearthed during the height of the pandemic in 2020. “What are we going to do about this racism?”

As a response, we wanted to provide recognition and a safe space for People of Color and all who feel marginalized within the Focolare Movement and in society at large, with open and honest discussions on race. Sharing painful experiences of injustice and disparities, and being heard. Creating a forum for self-examination, and awareness contributing to an anti-racist society

We want to turn dialogue and discussion into initiative and action. Every encounter is to be a call to action, to brainstorm concrete actions that we can take as individuals, within our families, and in our various communities.
